Amperage for Cabinet Saw

Q. I just ordered a JET 10" JTAS-10XL cabinet saw. It is due in next week. Even though I am not an electrician, I intend to wire the circuit myself since I have done this before with no problems. Does anyone know what the amperage rating for the 3hp motor is?

A. Linda Haus: "Your saw is 17 amps, which is pretty easy to find out by calling JET's 800 number, which is 800-274-6848. If you call the manufacturer of your tools directly, they can usually help you with questions like this. There are also equations out there for figuring out volts vs. amps."
