Best saw blade for melamine and plywood
|
Q. I have occasion to use a 7 1/4" circular saw for cutting melamine and furniture grade veneer plywood. I would like to purchase the best blade possible to minimize chipping and splintering. I use a straightedge and guide shoe to optimize parallelism. If you could recommend a blade for this, I would be most appreciative. I am currently leaning toward the Forrest Duraline Hi-A/T. Do you have any suggestions?
A. Michael Dresdner: "I've used the Forrest Duraline Hi-A/T for years and it is excellent. In general, look for an alternate tooth blade configuration with a very high grind angle, and make sure the blade is kept sharp -- one of the key issues to clean cuts in melamine and veneer."
