Countertop Glue

Q: I want to make my own butcher block countertop. What kind of glue should I use?

A: Michael Dresdner, Carol Reed: Use the new Titebond III. To quote from issue #115 of this eZine, in addition to being waterproof, it is resistant to oil, solvents, heat and mildew, and unaffected by finishes. It also boasts a longer open time than original Titebond. Compared to polyurethane adhesive, it is stronger on wood to wood bonds, easier to use, does not foam, does not stain fingers, has no health issues, cleans up with water, requires less clamp time, and is significantly less expensive.
