Drying Walnut Lumber

Printer Friendly Version  Increase Text Size Decrease Text Size
Q: About how long should it take to dry one-inch thick, 10-inch wide walnut lumber?

Carol Reed: The conventional wisdom says one year for one inch, but there are so many variables when drying wood.  Check the wood drying forum on http://woodweb.com/

Richard Jones: If air dried in stickered stacks in an open-sided shed, this might take about five to eight months.
