I have made the hall Deacons/Mission bench for my daughter's family and I changed the traditional lift up seat to drawers. I did this so when their children go out their hats, mittens, etc, are stored in the drawers making it easier to access when the children are sitting on the bench waiting to go out.

This is completely my own design.
